The LOMA
The LOMA is a new development offering 62 affordable housing units for seniors, with 16 three-bedroom units designed to accommodate seniors from different cultural backgrounds. These units are specifically targeted for low-income seniors aged 55 and above and their family, with incomes ranging from 30% to 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Partnering with the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority (MPHA), we've secured Project Based Vouchers (PBV) for a portion of the units. Our project aims to meet the community's need for culturally sensitive senior housing, allowing seniors from different backgrounds to stay in their familiar surroundings.
We have also reserved units for individuals experiencing homelessness. To support our residents, we've partnered with a service provider that will offer on-site services and referrals, emphasizing the importance of aging in place. These services will be tailored to meet the needs of our residents, ensuring they have access to the resources they need to thrive.
In terms of sustainability, The LOMA will implement SB2030 building practices, including the installation of solar panels, EV charging stations, and smart tubing. We'll exceed MHFA's green communities’ guidelines, prioritizing material reuse, sustainable disposal, and the use of eco-friendly building components. By integrating sustainable practices into our construction, we're not only reducing our environmental impact but also creating a healthier and more resilient community for our residents.
